Try Hesn’s Windows app with DNS filtering, protection status, pause and resume, and a tray icon that starts when you sign in.

Unsigned preview for testing. Microsoft publisher verification is pending, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. This build has passed initial VM checks, but full compatibility testing is still in progress.

Install and connect

  1. Download the installer on your Windows 11 PC. The .NET runtime is included.
  2. Run setup and approve administrator access. Confirm the Windows account that will control Hesn.
  3. Open Hesn from the Start menu and sign in with your Hesn account. You need an eligible subscription and an available device slot.
  4. Add this PC or select an unused device slot. Wait for the app to verify that protection is active.

Because this preview is unsigned, Windows cannot verify its publisher. If your PC or organisation blocks it, wait for the signed release or contact support. Do not disable antivirus or Windows security to install it.

Ready when you sign in

Setup enables automatic startup for the configured Windows user. The app starts in the notification area; Windows may place the icon inside the tray overflow menu beside the clock. Click it to open Hesn, or use its menu to pause or resume.

Closing the window keeps Hesn in the tray. Exiting the interface does not stop the filtering service. You can change startup behaviour in Windows Startup apps.

What is still being tested

This is an early testing build, not a finished release. IPv6-only networks, real Wi-Fi/Ethernet/hotspot transitions, sleep, VPN and browser compatibility, and interrupted upgrades or rollback still need validation.

DNS filtering blocks domains; it does not inspect every image or page. Browser Secure DNS, VPNs and other custom network settings can bypass system DNS filtering. Do not rely on this preview as your only protection.

Pause or uninstall

Use Pause in the app or tray menu to restore the DNS settings Hesn saved. To remove the app, uninstall Hesn through Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Uninstall attempts to restore those DNS settings before removing the service.

If recovery reports a DNS conflict, it keeps the service and recovery data rather than overwriting another configuration. Contact hello@hesn.app with the error shown. Do not manually delete the service files while recovery is pending.

Protected setup data is retained for repair or reinstall. Remove the device from your Hesn account to revoke its access.
